The Royal Game of Ur is a two-player strategy race board game that was first played in ancient Mesopotamia during the early third millennium BC. One board, held by the British Museum, is dated to c. 2600 – c. 2400 BC, making it one of the oldest game boards in the world. It was the most played game in Mesopotamia for 1000 years. The designs of your board are based on that board found in the 1920.
You will get a unique 5 1/2″ x 16″ x 1/2″ game board finished with mineral oil, 4 pyramid shape dice and 14 pieces (all pieces are created by us to reflect as close as possible the original board game at the British museum), instructions and a travel bag.
Board is made of wood and is carved so the design will not fade over time. Dice and game pieces are made of PLA, a biodegradable product created with corn starch and sugar cane.
